Breastfeeding Basics is designed to offer a safe setting to discuss breastfeeding education and concerns for both the breastfeeding woman and her partner. Participants will have a good understanding of milk production and general anatomy, positioning and latch, as well as collection and proper storage of breast milk. Identifying common problems such as plugged ducts, mastitis and increasing your milk supply will also be addressed. A list of community resources will be available to support you upon your return home.

Welcome to Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center! We are excited to be sharing this amazing time in your life with you. This is a perfect opportunity for you to get to know us better. During this 45 minute tour of our labor/delivery and mom/baby guest rooms you will discover all of the accommodations we have to make your stay with us a pleasant one. We will discuss various hospital procedures, comfort measures during and after birth, how we care for you if complications arise, and how P/SL focuses on family centered care.

This tour is best taken any time after 28 weeks, and will be offered after all Childbirth Preparation Classes.
